Comedian Allan Perera will impersonate Encik Wan MDB and Sex in the Siti, a transgender “illusionist”.
Wan MDB is a huge fan and follower of Dr Mahathir (Mohamad), and he will be singing a song called the “Che Det Tribute”.
It’s satirical breaking news and current affairs on the rise of Mahathir in the current political arena as seen by Wan MDB.
"Encik Wan Bedek Wan Temberang is Wan MDB,” said Allan, adding, “It will be a scandal to miss this performance!”
Transgender Siti played by Allan will show how he/she pulled off an gender illusion to slip away unnoticed during the “Transgender JAIS raid”.
The other character impersonations are Elvis Tan and Basha Abdul Malik, a Bangladeshi Malaysian-wannabe in his show Malaysia Got Scandal.
Allan will see the lighter side of Wan MDB, “Very pleased to inform you that since the completion of Season 1, we’ve had an overwhelming amount of entries, both locally and internationally, both eager to compete in Season 2 of Malaysia’s Got Scandal."
His new comedy show Malaysia’s Got Scandal will be spiced with his parodies of Wan MDB.
Local scandal
Three night shows start at 9pm from Wednesday (June 15) to Friday and tickets are at RM75, RM55, RM35. The show will be staged at PJ Live Arts@Jaya One.
In Elvis Tan, the winner of Malaysia’s Got Scandal Season 1, Allan will be singing about the Sarawak travel entry ban on opposition MPs and the hudud law.
Bangladeshi Basha Abdul Mailk will be ranting and clarifying on the immigration of 1.5 million Bangladeshi workers, which is linked to one of the senior members of the Malaysian cabinet.
“This phenomena can be attributed to Malaysia’s present standing as one of the top nations in the world that has managed to produce and maintain the most number of unsolved corruption cases and international scandals. Bravo, Malaysia!”
His opening line is: “Hello everybody and welcome back to Malaysia’s Got Scandal Season 2 Semifinals! And thank you for being here and supporting your local scandal.”
And, his satire includes: “So ladies and gentlemen, we are expecting a very exciting show today which will feature 4 semifinalists, all geared up to challenge for the winning votes to reach the finals. So, are you ready to get scandalous?” -Mkini
