My comments : This announcement by the Norwegians is stirring a lot of excitement in Europe.  And in their democratic system, the political parties are jumping on the bandwagon because this is what the European people want.

(Malaysia too has a democratic system but many of our people want air jampi, kahwin ramai bini,  bomoh dua biji kelapa,  undang-undang arab and other nonsensical stuff. In a democracy you get what the majority wants.)

Anyway back to Norway, they seem serious about outlawing all fossil fueled cars by 2025. That is nine years away.  

Way before that, this will catch on in the rest of Europe.  Can you imagine a world with petrol or diesel cars?

No more petrol stations. No more 'car mechanics'.  There will be electric traction' mechanics and car battery specialists.  The world is changing folks. Morons please wake up.

I am certain that Mercedes, Volkswagen, BMW, Audi and the rest of the German car makers are already watching this development very carefully. And they will react accordingly - using their intelligence.

Once the political parties get the right signals from the people, Europe will de-oil itself. Meaning this "trend" will develop and become the norm. The world is moving into the post-oil age.

My son the architect says that over in Tokyo, by 2020, over 1000 buildings will be disconnected from the Electricity Grid.  They will generate their own electricity.  Not using solar panels but the buildings will be painted using "solar paint" or photo-voltaic paint.  Every corner of a building will catch some sun and generate electricity.  It is an expensive technology but the Japanese are committed to it.

What will be Malaysia's response? 

We need APs to import solar paint? 

You need a license from TNB to go off the grid?

What happened to the grand idea for our houses to generate our own electricity cheaply using solar panels? The crony with the AP to import solar cells does not know how to run the AP business?

Folks, the Arabs will not be able to sell their oil. They cannot drink their oil either. Petronas will have to evolve into something else.  If we can find it (maybe at the Lost and Found) we have to use intelligence as well. It is not a bad idea.

The world is changing. You cannot possibly expect  Ali Tinju, Jadi Bawang or Jamal Ikan Bakar to understand much of this. Or the Moron or Khazanah.
