Selangor exco member Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad's legal troubles for organising the Black 505 rally three years ago is not over, as prosecutors are appealing against the punishment meted last month.
According to his lawyer Syahredzan Johan, the Attorney-General's Chambers informed his client about their decision to appeal only yesterday.
"However, the letter was dated Dec 14 last year," he told Malaysiakini.
Nik Nazmi, who is also the Seri Setia assemblyperson, was fined RM1,500 by the Shah Alam High Court on Dec 8 for violating the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.
