Refusing-to-reverse,-2-women-drivers-face-off-for-2-hoursPETALING JAYA: Two women drivers who found themselves on opposite sides of a narrow back lane and refused to reverse so the other could pass, found themselves in a two-hour face-off last week.
According to a report by The Star Online, the incident took place at approximately 11am on Thursday in a back lane off Jalan Dato Abdul Rahman in Seremban town.
A video of the incident, shot by one of the women shows the other driver flashing vulgar signs at her, then exposing her bra and later resorting to staying put in her car as she listened to music on her earphones.
The video also shows a male passenger, who was with the other driver, getting out of the car and walking towards the woman listening to her earphones.
He is heard saying, “Reverse lah. Reverse lah!” to which he received a middle finger flashed at him in anger by the woman.
The video of the spat has since gone viral on social media, The Star Online said.
Speaking to Sin Chew Daily, the woman driver who exposed her bra, explained she only did so because she had a sore throat and could not shout loudly.
She also said: “I really didn’t expect it to blow up like this. People are calling me heartless and other names.”
Another driver who was present when the face-off took place, said he was appalled at the level of pettiness both women drivers displayed.
“I was behind one of the cars when the stand-off took place. I saw the driver coming from the other side flashing vulgar signs.
“At first, the car in front of me could not reverse as there were several cars behind her.
“But even after we all backed away, she did not budge,” he said.
The face-off came to an abrupt end however when police showed up at the scene and ordered both to reverse their vehicles so the lane would be freed up.
Seremban Baru OCPD Asst Comm Thiew Hock Poh said both women have not lodged a police report about the incident.
Meanwhile netizens who viewed the video were shocked at the antics of the women and stumped at why neither had the presence of mind or common decency to reverse so the other could pass. -FMT
