My dad's heart condition is weak, says Lat's daughter

Although cartoonist Mohammad Nor Khalid, more popularly known as Lat, who is hospitalised due to heart problems is in stable condition, his heart is currently weak.

This was disclosed by his eldest daughter, Junaidah Mohd Nor, 33, after The Star contacted her today.

“My father is stable. He is speaking, eating and walking as normal but the condition of his heart is currently weak.”

The English daily had reported her saying Lat would be having a number of tests today, with doctors saying that the results were expected to be out on Monday.

Yesterday, Bernama reported the 65-year-old cartoonist had been admitted to the Ipoh Pantai Hospital last week due to heart problems but he had been discharged last Tuesday.

However, he had been readmitted to the same hospital but warded in the Intensive Care Unit because the normal wards were full.

Lat's wife, Faezah Ahmad Zanzali, was reported to have said her husband was receiving treatment at the normal ward and needed rest.

“Yesterday, he was saddened to find out the media had reported that he was admitted into the ICU and his condition was stable when in fact he was placed in the ICU because the wards were full.

“Give him time to rest and don’t disturb him for now,” she said.- Mkini
