PETALING JAYA: While the focus was on the lorry driver being attacked by several men, another man also suffered a beating in the incident.
A CCTV footage, published by the Malaysian Crime Watch Task Force (MyWatch), revealed that a security guard at the condominium was also roughed up by three men, believed to be linked to the same group that had beaten up the lorry driver.
In the 56-second clip, uploaded on MyWatch’s Twitter account last night, the men were seen harassing the guard at the condominium’s guardhouse at Bukit Antarabangsa, Ampang, on Jan 14.
A man in a black-and-blue shirt, a cap and sunglasses, grabbed the guard by his uniform, while another man in a black shirt repeatedly pointed his finger at the guard.
Seconds later, the first man kicked the guard’s legs and shoved him in the chest.
Selangor police chief Comm Abdul Samah Mat told FMT he was fully aware of the incident.
“The security guard also lodged a report about the incident earlier on. So we are investigating it along with the attack on the lorry driver.
“We are not only focusing on the assault on the driver, but also that on the security guard.”
He added that those who assaulted the guard were among the five suspects already arrested over the incident.
The attack grabbed national headlines when a video of it went viral last week. It showed Nasrul, 25, assaulted by the group of men after he accidentally reversed into a parked Mercedes Benz.
The men then kicked Nasrul in the head several times while security guards at the condo looked on nervously.
Nasrul suffered injuries to several parts of his body and a gash that required 13 stitches on his neck.
Selangor deputy police chief Deputy Comm Mohamad Fuad Abdul Latiff yesterday said five people, including a woman, had been arrested over the assault. -FMT
