PETALING JAYA: The police have rebuffed rumours that a 16-year-old boy was behind the wheel of a Lamborghini Avantador that was involved in a three-car accident on Jalan Persiaran Teknologi Subang here.
Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohammad Azlin Sadari was commenting on a recent Facebook post which claimed that a 16-year-old son of a Tan Sri was driving the RM2mil vehicle when it crashed.
"There are many rumours flying around that it is a minister's son and so on. It is not true," he said.
The post claimed that the teenager had also crashed into another car, with both drivers suffering light injuries.
ACP Mohammad Azlin said the accident, which took place at around 6pm on Tuesday, occurred when the driver of the Lamborghini lost control of his vehicle while trying to overtake another car.
He said the Lamborghini had grazed the car in front before jumping the divider and crashing into a third car coming from the opposite direction.
"The third car and the Lamborghini were badly damaged while the second car had minor damage," he said.
Police are still waiting for all parties to lodge a report on the accident.
