Noh: Opposition often gives misleading statements on court decisions

The opposition has often been giving misleading statements to the people pertaining to court decisions as if they have won every case, said Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government (KPKT) Minister Noh Omar.
He cited a statement by Taiping MP Nga Kor Ming who claimed that the decision by the Ipoh High Court to allow his application to set aside a KPKT circular was a victory for the people.
"He said the decision was a moral victory for the people whilst the court had just allowed his application but had not decided on the case," he told the media at the ministry's Hari Raya Open House in Putrajaya today.
He said another person who has often given misleading statements was Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali, who had claimed that he had succeeded in preventing the Election Commission (EC) from carrying out its delineation exercise, especially in Selangor.
"We are well aware that the country comprises three regions namely the Federation of Malaya, Sabah and Sarawak, and if we want to conduct a re-delineation it must involve all states in Malaysia," he said.
“But from Azmin's  statement, it is as if the delineation exercise was stopped and could not be carried out, when in actual fact the Selangor delineation exercise was halted and the EC could not send a report to the prime minister, " he said.

Noh, who is also Selangor Barisan Nasional chairman, also criticised  Azmin, who had earlier expressed his willingness to cooperate with the federal government but failed to attend the 71st National Council Meeting on local governments held last Monday.
"The meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and should be attended by those at minister, chief minister and menteri besar levels... at the very least they should be represented by an executive council member but Selangor sent a division secretary," he said.
He said this simply showed that the Selangor government had no respect for the Constitution, adding that the policies drawn by the federal government were to assist the state governments.
