Syed Saddiq: TMJ wants 'cleansing' of corrupt system

Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim believes there is a dire need to "cleanse" the country of corruption, especially in his state.
This was related to Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Youth head Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman during Tunku Ismail's Hari Raya event recently.
"Tunku kept on stressing on the need to 'clean up the system' as a whole, not just cosmetic changes.
"In Johor for example, a former exco member was not spared from criminal prosecution for his misdeeds.
"The crackdowns on Jabatan Agama Islam Johor, corrupt businessmen and many more are all good indicators that corruption will never be tolerated in Johor," recounted Syed Saddiq in a Facebook post today.
Syed Saddiq said the crown prince said "cleansing the system" would require courage, honesty and action.
"What I love about such advice was that it cuts across party lines... It applies to Umno, Bersatu, PKR and more... It applies to all Malaysians," he said.
Syed Saddiq said that the most "profound" advice from the crown prince was that he not be "used" by those with vested interests.

"I will always keep this in mind. The last thing I want is to be sued for a wrong cause," he said.
Syed Saddiq, who hails from Johor, thanked Tunku Ismail for his advice and promised not to let him down.
Previously, Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar granted Syed Saddiq an audience following the latter's open letter criticising a royal decree which banned street protests.- Mkini
