TMJ an exceptional ruler, says Sarawak DCM

The Crown Prince of Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim's latest statement expressing his disappointment and disillusionment on the sorry state of affairs in the nation has won support from Sarawak.
“The Tunku Mahkota Johor (TMJ) did the right thing by speaking up on what he thinks is the truth. He is a person who has the courage to speak his mind on matters of national interest in a blunt manner”, Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister James Masing said.
“I appreciate and admire TMJ’s wisdom and courage to take a stand and be on the people’s side.
“It’s not easy for a member of the royal family to be so critical of the nation’s leadership. TMJ is an exceptional ruler in this instance.
“No one can fault him for voicing out his inner feelings. Above all, you can’t fault TMJ on the truth of the matter," Masing told Malaysiakini today.
In his latest posting in the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook page, Tunku Ismail lamented on the ills plaguing the nation asking “What's happening to a country I used to respect? A country that I was once proud to call my home.”
Among other things, the 33-year-old Johor Crown Prince described Malaysia as a country where corruption has become a tradition, with the media protecting the corrupt and victimising the innocents to sell stories.
Tunku Ismail also charged that uneducated Malaysians are being deceived, manipulated by the system and torn into pieces, adding that the institution in Malaysia is slowly losing its identity.
Masing reckoned that the southern state and Johoreans would prosper and achieve greater heights with a caring, dynamic and responsible ruler.
“Of course, you also need a transparent and accountable state government in place too. I will be most happy for Johor and Johoreans if the state prospers. Why not? Everyone should be happy for a state which does well,” added Masing, who is also president of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS).

Tunku Ismail also gave a one-liner to Sabah and Sarawak in his posting, with an advice to respect the two Borneo states and its peoples.
“Malaysia, you'll be okay. You're fortunate to have friends such as Sabah, Sarawak and other places. Be kind to them. Respect them. Unity is the key to success.”
On this, Sarawak Assistant Minister Dr Jerip Susil chipped in: “Timely advice indeed. Very correct and right into the heart of it.” - Mkini
