Umno might call me 'He-man' next, predicts Kit Siang

DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang has been called many things by his critics and he is now pondering what will come next after "dictator".
He said that in the past, the list included "devil, a puaka (evil spirit), even jembalang (poltergeist), anti-Malay, and anti-Islam", but this didn't really work on the intended audience.
"Now, the Umno propaganda campaign is trying a different tact - accusing me of being a dictator who made others in the DAP as well as Pakatan Harapan, including Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Anwar Ibrahim, Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Muhyiddin Yassin, Azmin Ali, Mohamad Sabu and Husam Musa, into my stooges and puppets.
"At this rate, the next phase for the Umno 'demonisers' will be to elevate me into a 'master of the universe' with powers to direct foreign governments, like the US, UK, Australia, Switzerland, Singapore and Luxembourg to interfere with Malaysia's internal affairs and institute actions against 1MDB to 'topple' Najib and Umno," said Lim in a statement today.
However, Lim pointed out that such a strategy would imply that the above-mentioned countries were his agents, instead of the other way around.
"Masters of the Universe" refers to a toy and cartoon line developed by Mattel in the early 1980s. The franchise was turned into a movie in 1987 starring Dolph Lundgren as the protagonist "He-man". The movie was a flop but remains a cult classic till this day.
How can there be 'two dictators'?
Meanwhile, Lim said that he pitied Najib's present crop of propagandists, using the idiom "when you pay peanuts, you get monkeys" to illustrate his point.
He then singled out Najib's aide Tengku Sariffuddin Tengku Shah who yesterday said that the opposition was led by "two dictators".
Lim said that he was flabbergasted that Tengku Sariffuddin's introduced the concept of "two dictators" and wondered how that made any sense. By definition, a dictator is a person exercising absolute power, he pointed out.
"However, I fully agree that dictators are relics of the past and there is no room for any dictator, not 'two dictators', in the 21st century," he said.
Lim pointed out that he had resigned as DAP secretary-general in 1999 and stepped down as DAP chairperson in 2004.

"Maybe Najib's propagandists could explain how I could be 'dictator' of DAP after stepping down from active party leadership for the past 13 years?
"And why is it that Mahathir, after being prime minister and Umno president for 22 years, could not continue as Umno 'dictator' in the past 14 years?" asked Lim.
In view of the lapse in logic over the "two dictators" charge, Lim advised Najib to "send his propagandists back to school" to the learn basic English.- Mkini
