UMNO SHAKEN BY CHIN TONG’S EXPOSE OF HOW NAJIB PLANNED TO DITCH 7 MBs, SIDELINE ZAHID, KU NAN & ANNUAR: PM’S AIDE RUSHES TO TELLS DAP MAN TO SHUT UP

KUALA LUMPUR― DAP’s Liew Chin Tong should focus on fixing his party’s democratic deficit rather than peddling fake news, smearing and pushing outright lies about the government, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s press secretary Datuk Seri Tengku Sariffuddin Tengku Ahmad said.
He said Liew, who is Kluang Member of Parliament, should in fact be more concerned about the serious predicament of his party as DAP do not know whether it will be allowed to use their infamous rocket logo in the coming general election, due to its current Central Executive Committee not recognised by the Registrar of Societies.
“This is because DAP’s party elections are alleged to be gerrymandered and an undemocratic fix up by Penang Official 1 and his father to perpetuate the family’s half-century long dictatorship over DAP. This means DAP’s Secretary-general, Penang Official 1 (Lim Guan Eng), is in no position to authorise anything in the party as he is not legally recognised.
“In fact, DAP’s entire leadership is under threat and could be declared illegal for their alleged election manipulation,” he said in a statement last night.
Tengku Sariffuddin also said what Liew and his colleagues could do for their party is to ask Penang Official 1, who is facing multiple corruption charges, to resign, ask party adviser Lim Kit Siang to retire after half a century of failed dictatorship and urge DAP vice chairman Tan Seng Giaw, who is more concerned for the people’s welfare than for his personal power, to take over the party leadership.
“If Liew refuses, he should just keep quiet and refrain from parroting the tired old smears of a tired old dictator. We are now in the 21st century. Dictators are relics of the past ― although the Opposition, even though it claims to speak for democracy, now has not one but two dictators leading it,” he added.
MEANWHILE, according to Malaysiakini:
The prime minister’s press secretary Tengku Sarifuddin Tengku Ahmad has branded Kluang MP Liew Chin Tong’s analysis about his boss as “fake news” and asked the DAP MP to focus on his party’s “serious predicament” with regard to using its logo in the next general election.
“Liew Chin Tong should stop pushing what is obviously fake news, smears and outright lies about the government.
“He should be more concerned about the serious predicament of his party, DAP.
“DAP do not know whether they will be allowed to use their infamous rocket logo in the coming general election,” Tengku Sarifuddin said in a statement tonight.
He added that the Registrar of Societies does not currently recognise the validity of DAP’s central executive committee.
“This is because DAP’s party elections are alleged to be gerrymandered and an undemocratic fix up by Penang Official 1 and his father to perpetuate that family’s half-century long dictatorship over DAP.
“This means that DAP’s secretary-general, Penang Official 1, is in no position to authorise anything in the party as he is not legally recognised.
“In fact, DAP’s entire leadership is under threat and could be declared illegal for their alleged election manipulation,” he said.
The term “Penang Official 1” was coined by Tengku Sarifuddin in reference to Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng as a counter to “Malaysian Official 1”, which the US Department of Justice (DOJ) claimed was a beneficiary of allegedly stolen 1MDB funds and which the opposition has used as fodder.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Abdul Rahman Dahlan had confirmed that “Malaysian Official 1” is Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
Najib denied any wrongdoing or taking public funds for personal gain.
Meanwhile, Lim is facing two charges of graft which he claimed were politically motivated.
Tengku Sarifuddin’s statement against Liew came just a day after the DAP political education bureau chief made a scathing analysis of Najib’s position, claiming that he was in a weakened state despite initial proclamations that he was “unsinkable”.
The prime minister’s aide said Liew and his colleagues should focus on DAP’s own internal matters, such as asking “Penang Official 1” to resign, getting party supremo Lim Kit Siang to quit and installing DAP’s maverick Kepong MP Tan Seng Giaw as the party’s new leader.
“If Liew Chin Tong refuses, he should just keep quiet and refrain from parroting the tired old smears of a tired old dictator.
“We are now in the 21st century. Dictators are relics of the past – although the opposition, even though it claims to speak for democracy, now has not one but two dictators leading it,” added Tengku Sarifuddin.
