Six evacuation centres remain open in Sabah as at 9pm to shelter 1,613 flood victims comprising 692 families.
The Malaysian Civil Defence Force in a statement said five of the centres were in Kota Belud and one in Membakut.
It said the number in Kota Belud had decreased to 1,603 comprising 688 families, compared to 1,829 comprising 758 families in the morning.
“Of the figure, 540 people (225 families) are staying at SMK Taun Gusi, while 441 people (227 families) at Dewan Masyarakat Tun Said.
“Another 309 people (90 families) are sheltered at Dewan SK Pekan and 179 people (77 families), at Dewan SMK Agama Tun Said,” it said, adding that 134 people from 69 families were staying at Kompleks Sukan Botung.
In Membakut, 10 people from four families are staying at Dewan Mini Puspanita.
