PAS chief regrets party’s contributions taken lightly

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang said he regretted that his party's contribution to the current Selangor government had been taken lightly.
Hadi reminded the current PKR-led Selangor government that the then Pakatan Rakyat component parties had relied upon PAS' machinery to achieve election victories in 2008 and 2013.
"They should realise that they entered the election with PAS' machinery. Only PAS has divisions and branches throughout the country. They do not have these.
"They rode on our machinery then suddenly they want to instruct us and turn us into a step on a staircase. That is the wrong approach," he told Malaysiakini in an interview at the PAS headquarters.
Elaborating on the state of politics in Selangor, Hadi said all that mattered now was to focus on PAS' victory.
"I don't know about the fate of Harapan. Only God knows but for me, it is to work for PAS' victory.
"For the other parties, it is up to them," he said.
Hadi was responding to the deadlock in seat negotiations between Harapan parties in Selangor.
The seat negotiation talks have not made significant progress with only four out of 25 overlapping claims being resolved.
Hadi added that PAS was prepared to work with any government of the day but stressed that they all had their own self-interest, unlike PAS. -Mkini
