Kelantan Menteri Besar Ahmad Yakob today met with Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad at the Prime Minister's Office in Putrajaya.
"The visit was based on official relations between the Kelantan government and the federal government to foster the spirit of federalism in our beloved Malaysia," he said in a statement.
Ahmad said he hoped the visit today will be followed up with closer cooperation between the Kelantan exco members and federal ministers.
The menteri besar revealed that in the meeting, he thanked Mahathir for agreeing to meet Kelantan's oil royalty claim and also appealed for federal projects in the state to continue.
"I conveyed my appreciation and thanks to the prime minister for agreeing to give petroleum royalty to Kelantan based on his previous statement during the National Finance Council meeting.
"In the meeting, I also stated the Kelantan government's hope that federal projects will continue," he said in a statement.
Ahmad, who is also Kelantan PAS chief, said he also conveyed his congratulations to Mahathir on his victory in the May 9 general election. - Mkini
