Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said work was still piling up for him despite it being Hari Raya eve.
However, he took some time off for a video message in which he provided a word for advice for those travelling home to see their families.
"Today is the last day of fasting, tomorrow we will celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri but on this last day, my work is still piling up and I will need to work until evening, I can't rest.
"To those who are travelling back to their kampung, remember, your families are waiting for you. Don't disappoint them by getting involved in an accident," he said in a video message uploaded on his official Facebook page.
Mahathir advised those returning home not to rush and drive carefully.
"Don't rush. Sometimes, just to get home 15 minutes earlier, we become hasty and then accidents happen," he said.
He also advised those celebrating Hari Raya to stay away from firecrackers.
Mahathir also said he will be hosting a Hari Raya open house at his official residence tomorrow and invited the public to join him. -Mkini
