KOTA KINABALU: The power supply to one of Sabah’s largest shopping malls – 1Borneo Hypermall – will be disconnected on Wednesday (June 27) if they fail to settle their outstanding RM9.3mil bill by Tuesday (June 26).
According to Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) Asset Management general manager, Mohd Yaakob Jaafar, they have given the mall's management ample time to settle their bills.
“So, if they still refuse to pay their RM9.3mil electricity bill on Tuesday (June 26), we will disconnect the supply on Wednesday,” he said in a statement.
He said notices have been served to the management several times and discussions with them have also been held.
.“The agreed time frame was to settle the bills by June 26, 2018,” Yaakob said.
He also advised the management to inform its tenants and clients about the expected power cut.
The act to disconnect a place's power supply is enacted under the Electricity Supply Act 1990.- Star
