KUALA LUMPUR – According to a source from PKR made available to Sin Chew Daily, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will likely contest in Nibong Tebal, Selayang, Padang Serai, or Bandar Tun Razak.
It was earlier said that Penang PKR chairman Datuk Mansor Othman would vacate his Nibong Tebal seat in order to take over as Penang Yang di-Pertua Negeri.
It was also said that Selayang MP William Leong was willing to vacate his seat to make way for Anwar, which Leong did not deny when contacted by Sin Chew Daily yesterday afternoon.
A source said Anwar would eventually choose between Padang Serai and Bandar Tun Razak, and that there was 99% chance he would pick the latter.
Nevertheless, Bandar Tun Razak MP Datuk Kamarudin Jaffar is currently the deputy transport minister, and it is illogical for him to vacate his seat for Anwar’s sake.
Anwar has said he will take part in a by-election in a month or two in order to return to the Parliament.
