The home affairs minister, who underwent surgery to remove a growth in the pancreas, is expected to resume duties in about a month.
SINGAPORE: Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has been discharged from the Mount Elizabeth Hospital here after recuperating from a surgery.
“He will have a rest with the family,” Muhyiddin’s press secretary Hafiz Abdul Halim said in a statement posted on the minister’s official Facebook account.
Muhyiddin had undergone surgery to remove a pancreatic growth.
He has been on leave since July 12 for follow-up treatment and is expected to resume duties in a month.
Hafiz thanked all the doctors, nurses and other staff of the hospital.
“Thanks to all of you who had prayed for his health and taken time to visit him when he was in hospital,” he said.
Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean and former prime minister Goh Chok Tong had visited Muyhiddin at the hospital.
