Sacked Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) pilot Zaidi Ahmad today lamented that his request for his pension to be reinstated and to rejoin the air force, has been rejected by the Pakatan Harapan government.
Zaidi, who currently serves as the information officer in Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow's office, said the Malaysian Armed Forces Council has told him that he is not eligible for the demands in his appeal as he was sacked from his job.
"I will meet them on Judgment Day," an upset Zaidi told Malaysiakini.
"I won't comment much about this decision but I would like to remind Harapan leaders not to forget, they have now obtained minister positions, they are happy and can enjoy much luxury in their lives.
"Do not forget the rakyat who have struggled and helped you attain what you have now, because the same rakyat can also bring you down," he added.
Back in May this year, Zaidi had submitted his appeal to the newly appointed Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu at his home in Tasek Gelugor, Penang.
Mohamed, better known as Mat Sabu, had said that he would look into Zaidi's matter.
In his appeal, Zaidi had also asked to be allowed to rejoin the air force as he is an experienced pilot who was "forced" to leave his post by the previous BN regime.
Malaysiakini has contacted Mohamad and is awaiting his response.
Zaidi was sacked from his job by the military court of the RMAF in 2015 after he challenged the Election Commission on the issue of the indelible ink.
He had lodged a police report during the 2013 general election, which was deemed to be against his work ethics. -Mkini
