Former premier Najib Abdul Razak's lawyer has accused the prosecution of being ill-prepared since it took them weeks to hand over documents on the charges related to SRC International Sdn Bhd.
Muhammad Shafee Abdullah claimed the defence had requested for the documents three times and the prosecution only submitted them this morning.
“For weeks (we asked for the documents). They said the documents were prepared a long time ago, but they just handed them over today.
“So we told the judge not to be hasty in setting a trial date because we want to look at the documents first..,” he told reporters at the High Court in Kuala Lumpur.
Shafee said the accused has the right to review the evidence that the prosecution has in order for him to make a defence.
