Manogran wants Pahang MB to resolve the TOL issue

CAMERON POLLS | DAP's candidate for the Cameron Highlands by-election M Manogaran (above) has challenged Pahang Menteri Besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail to resolve the issue of the temporary occupancy license (TOL) applications.

"Yesterday, the Pahang menteri besar said Pakatan Harapan cannot interfere in state government matters.

"If that is so, I challenge the state government to resolve these issues so that the people will no longer have to bring their complaints to us in Pakatan Harapan," Manogaran said at a press conference in Tanah Rata today.

Yesterday, Wan Rosdy (below), who is also BN's by-election campaign director, said land-related matters in Pahang were under the state's jurisdiction and the Harapan federal government had no right to interfere.

Manogaran, however, said many people in Cameron Highlands have relayed their concerns about the slow processing of their TOL applications.

He claimed that although there were more than a thousand new TOL applications, the Land Office only processed less than 10 applications a month.

"If you say we should not interfere, then the duty and responsibility are on you to resolve these problems of the people.

"Don't let the people come and complain to the Harapan representatives," Manogaran chided.

He noted that this was not a party issue and government departments needed to do their jobs properly and provide efficient services to the people.

"We always respect civil servants who do their jobs properly and courteously.

“We highly respect them but (I am talking about) those who do not do their jobs and do not care about the problems of the rakyat," he said. - Mkini
