AZIZAH & AZMIN IN ‘POOR HEALTH’ – SO MAHATHIR WILL APPOINT MUKHRIZ AS DPM? AZIZAH’S OFFICE DENIES SHE’S NEXT TO BE HOSPITALIZED AFTER AZMIN, CONDEMNS ‘FAKE NEWS’

THE Deputy Prime Minister’s Office has denied a claim that Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has been hospitalised.

The statement was issued today after a Facebook account published a photo of Dr Wan Azizah with Iskandar Puteri MP Lim Kit Siang, captioned “After Mohamed Azmin Ali was admitted to hospital, it is now Dr Wan Azizah’s turn”.

“The picture is an old image and comes with a fake caption,” said the statement.

“The deputy prime minister launched Tasputra Perkim this morning, and spent time speaking to the media at the event.”

It said the Facebook post also claimed that Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad would use the “poor health” of Economic Affairs Minister Azmin and Dr Wan Azizah as an excuse to appoint his son, Mukhriz Mahathir, as deputy prime minister.

The statement said Dr Wan Azizah is concerned about the rising number of fake news being spread on social media.

“These are malicious efforts by irresponsible parties, who hide behind pseudonyms, to create tension in Pakatan Harapan. Do not trust everything you read on social media, and do not share if you are not sure (if the information is accurate),” it quoted her as saying.
