Bersatu chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad issued membership cards to former Umno lawmakers in Putrajaya this evening.
Of the seven, six were present at the time of writing - Masjid Tanah MP Mas Ermieyati Samsuddin, Hamzah Zainuddin (Larut), Shabudin Yahaya (Tasek Gelugor), Ikmal Hisham Abdul Aziz (Tanah Merah); Abdul Latiff Ahmad (Mersing) and Mohd Fasiah Mohd Fakeh (Sabak Bernam).
Rosol Wahid (Hulu Terengganu) is still on the way for the event.
Mas Ermieyati, a former deputy minister, quit Umno in July last year and submitted her application to join Bersatu in December.
The remaining six, meanwhile, quit Umno in December to protest the leadership of party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Hamzah was the former domestic trade, cooperatives and consumerism deputy minister.
Certain quarters, even those within Pakatan Harapan, have objected to accepting former Umno lawmakers into the coalition.
