Student hangs self after mother scolds him

A youth in Kulai, Johor hanged himself after being scolded by his mother for coming home late, Makkal Osai reported.

The college student, 21, came home at 11pm on Thursday after the family was asleep.

According to his sister, their mother scolded him early the next morning for watching TV, prompting him to lock himself in his room and threatening to hang himself.

Initially, the family did not take the threat seriously due to similar threats made before.

Their mother had been strict with them after their father passed away.- Star
