‘MAHATHIR IS ALONE – ANWAR & KIT SIANG ARE ACTIVELY TRYING TO TOPPLE HIM’ – FALLEN ZAHID, WHOSE OWN ‘END’ HAS COME, PREDICTS THE DEMISE OF PAKATAN

Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today likened alleged internal fighting within Pakatan Harapan to a “political gangrene” that will eventually break apart the ruling coalition.

In his speech to launch MIC’s 73rd general assembly at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur today, the BN chairperson also claimed that Harapan is struggling to maintain its relevance among the people.

“Day by day we are served with Harapan’s political drama, as they attempt to create an image in people’s minds that they are relevant to current needs.

“The reality and truth is, however, far from what has been said. Each of them (Harapan parties) have their own strategies to dominate each other.

“This situation is a new phenomenon in Harapan’s existence, that is political gangrene,” he claimed.

Addressing MIC’s central delegates, Zahid, who cited a purported conspiracy against Harapan chairperson, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, said this purported rot will soon lead to its death.

“In actual fact, Mahathir is alone in Harapan today, as PKR under Anwar Ibrahim and Lim Kit Siang for DAP are actively strategising against his leadership.

“It is, therefore, possible that Harapan will soon see its end because that’s the consequence (of the alleged plot),” he claimed.

In his speech, Zahid also urged MIC members to convince Indian voters of their party’s commitment to BN’s common goal of bringing prosperity for the people.

Among the leaders present at the AGM were BN secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, MCA president Wee Ka Siong, former MIC president S Samy Vellu and Dewan Negara deputy speaker Abdul Halim Abd Samad.

Also seen were leaders from new Umno ally PAS, including vice-president Dr Zawawi Salleh, Muslimat chief Nuridah Mohd Saleh and secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan.

This is the first time PAS leaders have attended an MIC AGM.

In a July convention, MIC leaders moved to convince members that they would not be left behind with Umno formalising its cooperation with PAS.

MIC president S Vigneswaran at the time also reassured his members there was no truth in the “radical” image attached to PAS by its critics.

Ummah says it is clear liberalism, Christianisation are threats to Islam

Gerakan Pembela Ummah has highlighted several issues which purportedly pose an existential threat to Islam, such as liberalism and Christianisation.

In his opening speech at the Ummah convention in Kuala Lumpur today, chairperson Aminuddin Yahya said “enemies” have seized the opportunity to oppress Malay-Muslims because they have fractured into smaller groups.

“The liberal movement has openly attacked the religious institution in the country, which they labelled as a waste of people’s money and does not bring any good to the country’s development.

“What is more disappointing is that there are certain religious parties who defend this thinking which threatens Malays and Islam… they call themselves ‘Islamic reformists’,” he said.

Aminuddin also pointed a finger at Christian evangelists who he claimed openly preach to Muslims.

“They are now pushing to remove the word ‘Islam’ from MyKad. They have been pushing for this tirelessly for years.

“They are cooperating with Western evangelists to preach in campuses. One of their missions is to install as many Christian leaders in the country as possible,” he alleged, though providing no proof to back up his claims.

Aminuddin also said that threats against Malays and Islam also come in the form of the “human rights movement,” which he says has contributed to the rise of LGBT, gender equality and freedom of speech.

“For the past 10 years, the most brazen movement would be the human rights movement, which fights for equality, bringing in ‘universal values’ which pushes aside religious values.

“We are shocked by the news that a representative from the LGBT group was given the opportunity to deliver a speech at the Human Rights Convention in Geneva.

“He was given respect by the (de facto) religious affairs minister who purportedly practises tolerance,” he said.

In March, LGBT activist Numan Afifi was invited to speak at the United Nations in Geneva. His statement was recorded by police the following month.

“Obviously, freedom of speech should be guaranteed and all these police reports (against me) are ridiculous.

“It is designed to intimidate and harass human rights defenders. Of course, I will keep speaking up for human rights,” Numan had said.

Other speakers at the Ummah convention today include former inspector-general of police Musa Hassan, former Dewan Negara speaker Abu Zahar, and former Universiti Teknologi Mara vice-chancellor Ibrahim Abu Shah.
