KOTA KINABALU: As state governments not aligned with Perikatan Nasional tumble, Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Madius Tangau (pic) says assemblymen in the state are solidly behind Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.
He said there had been growing "viral news" saying that there would be a change in the state government in July.
"This is not true. Our support lies with the Chief Minister," he said during a press conference here on Friday (May 15).
Madius said the state government was busy saving lives amid the Covid-19 pandemic as well as working to restart the economy.
"So please stop all this fake talk aimed at disrupting the stability in Sabah. We have no time for all this," he said.
Together with Madius at the press conference were 19 other assemblymen who appeared on short notice for the event which was only called late Thursday (May 14).
A total of 48 out of the 65 assemblymen in Sabah are members from Parti Warisan Sabah, Upko, DAP and PKR. - Star
