Covid-19 (July 4): 1,918 new cases, 8 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 1,918 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active cases currently stood at 29,382, up 12.4 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Negeri Sembilan (103)
Johor (89)
Penang (77)
Kedah (48)
Malacca (44)
Putrajaya (38)
Pahang (27)
Sarawak (25)
Kelantan (20)

Perlis (5)

Another eight deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday in Perak (5), Johor (2) and Kedah (1).

On average, 4.3 people were reported to have died of Covid-19 daily over the past week, up from 3.3 daily reported deaths over the past 30 days.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 35,784 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There are 1,172 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 44 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (140) followed by Johor (93) and Sabah (68). - Mkini
