BN will wait to decide after the 15th general election whether to cooperate with any other party in order to form the government, said caretaker prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
“We wait for the results (of GE15) first… let us cross the bridge first then we shall make a decision.
“If we make an assumption too early, we do not know what will happen in the election later,” he told reporters today.
Ismail Sabri was attending the officiation of the Malaysian Malay Contractors Association annual general meeting held at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur today.
He said any decision made would take into account what is best for the country.
“Most importantly, we want a stable government,” Ismail Sabri added.
Umno had earlier offered an olive branch to PAS to work together in the GE15 under their Muafakat Nasional cooperation.
However, PAS eventually confirmed that it would no longer pursue an electoral pact with Umno, while suggesting the latter is corrupt.
This effectively put an end to the Muafakat pact which began in September 2019. - Mkini
