In France 70% of their electricity is generated by nuclear power plants for which they need uranium. 30% of French uranium supplies come from Niger. The three largest uranium mines in Niger are owned by French companies.
The new rulers of Niger have kicked out the French Ambassador. The French have already asked their ECOWAS friends in West Africa to start a war against Niger.
This will likely fail. The Russians are already in Niger.
