Kelantan PAS has yet to reach a decision on who to nominate as menteri besar.
State PAS chief Ahmad Yakob - who is the outgoing menteri besar - said discussions will continue tonight, and will be attended by senior leaders including party president Abdul Hadi Awang.
PAS promised a change in state leadership if they were given the mandate to continue governing the state.
It is understood that the party seeks to submit three names for Hadi to present to Kelantan ruler Sultan Muhammad V.
Ahmad (above), who has been Kelantan menteri besar since 2013, said some have tried to convince him to seek another term helming the state.
“(But) I am uzur (frail), and I myself asked not to be reappointed.
“Even though there are leaders who asked me to continue as menteri besar, I had to reject it because of my age and health.
“Let it be that my time is used to serve the people of Kelantan as a regular elected representative, and not the menteri besar,” he told reporters in Kota Bharu today.
