PETALING JAYA: Several areas in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur experienced water supply disruptions and low water pressure after four water treatment plants along Sungai Selangor temporarily halted operations early this morning because of odour pollution.
Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) confirmed that the Sungai Selangor Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3, and Rantau Panjang water treatment plants resumed operations at 4am.
However, Air Selangor acting CEO Abas Abdullah said water supply disruptions and low water pressure were still affecting areas in Klang, Shah Alam, Petaling, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Selangor.
“A list of locations is being put together and will be announced soon. Alternative aid through water tankers has been dispatched to consumers, with priority for critical premises,” he said in a statement.
Abas said Air Selangor was working to minimise the inconvenience for consumers.
“Air Selangor will announce developments on the matter from time to time on all platforms, especially the media,” he said. - FMT
