Tanah Merah MP Ikmal Hisham Abdul Aziz described the apology from the prime minister's photographer, Sadiq Asyraf over a controversial photo which claimed the former was "vaping" in Parliament as a positive development.
The Bersatu lawmaker also admitted to being surprised by the apology because the issue was still being discussed amicably with Sadiq.
"I consider (the development) positive despite being surprised because we are still discussing an amicable solution, considering that I have never vaped.
"I don’t smoke. The pen was placed on my lips spontaneously for a moment," he said in a brief statement today.
Yesterday, Sadiq apologised to Ikmal Hisham (above) following allegations of the latter smoking an e-cigarette or vaping in the Dewan Rakyat.
"I apologise to YB (Ikmal Hisham) if there is a misconception that the object he was holding was a vape.
"Hope that all misunderstandings have now been resolved harmoniously," he wrote on X (Twitter).
Previously, Ikmal Hisham denied the accusation that he smoked vape in Parliament and even mulled legal action against Sadiq.
He even asked the Dewan Rakyat speaker to examine CCTV footage to prove his innocence. - Mkini
