PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested a man as part of its ongoing investigation into MYAirline Sdn Bhd’s co-founder and majority shareholder Goh Hwan Hua.

Bukit Aman commercial criminal investigation department (CCID) chief Ramli Yoosuf said the male suspect was arrested in Bangsar this morning and will be taken to Jinjang central lockup in Kuala Lumpur.

“The suspect is a shareholder in i-Serve Online Mall Sdn Bhd (i-Serve) and is in his 40s,” he said in a statement, adding that police will be applying for a remand order on the suspect.

Last month, i-Serve, along with six affiliated companies, was fined by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) for operating without a proper licence for accepting deposits. Goh is also one of i-Serve’s shareholders.

“The investigation is ongoing, with a focus on reviewing crucial documents related to i-Serve’s business transactions,” Ramli said.

He added that police have seized 12 vehicles from two suspects, documents related to i-Serve Technology and Vacation Sdn Bhd, six luxury watches, eight luxury handbags, two laptops, one CPU, and 10 pieces of jewellery.

On Saturday, police said they were identifying assets belonging to Goh and two of his family members, which are believed to be proceeds from money laundering activities.

Ramli was reported to have said that his team was carrying out a thorough investigation to identify the assets, including bank accounts and other properties.

Goh and two of his family members were arrested last Tuesday at their residence in Shah Alam, Selangor.

The trio were then remanded for four days to facilitate investigations under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001.

Goh’s remand was then extended another two days, but he will be released on police bail today, according to Ramli. - FMT
