RM10,000 grants for Madani Community units nationwide

GEORGE TOWN: The federal government is providing an annual grant of RM10,000 for Madani Community units being set up nationwide. The amount comprises RM3,000 for administration and RM7,000 for activities.

So far, the RM3,000 administrative grant has been channelled to every Madani Community, with the remaining RM7,000 to be provided through district information officers, communications minister Fahmi Fadzil said.

Fahmi said there are 1,878 community units nationwide, including 120 set up in Penang involving 40 state constituencies.

The Madani Community unit will serve as a communication mechanism for disseminating information to the public and gathering feedback from the people at the grassroots level, he said. - FMT
