The Energy Commission will expedite engagement sessions with industry players and the business community to gather feedback and views regarding the electricity tariff schedule.
It said the sessions would provide further details on the process of finalising the tariff schedule, taking into account the interests and responses of all parties.
“The engagement sessions will also serve as a platform for stakeholders to share their views and concerns about the electricity tariff schedule, which is set to be finalised and announced by the government in due course,” it said in a statement today.
The commission added that the government had assured that the new electricity tariff structure would not burden domestic users while taking into account all aspects of the national economy.
“The new tariff schedule will reflect the actual cost of electricity supply, be more competitive, and maintain a balance in the energy trilemma, namely the elements of security, sustainability, and affordability,” it said.
