GRS to discuss state polls seat allocation on Sunday - Hajiji

 

Sabah’s ruling coalition, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), is scheduled to hold a special meeting this Sunday to discuss seat allocation for the upcoming 17th state election.

GRS chairperson Hajiji Noor, who is also the chief minister, said the meeting would look into the coalition’s preparations for the state election, as well as other issues related to its component parties.

“Among the main agenda of the meeting is to decide the seat allocation for GRS (component parties),” he said.

He was speaking to reporters after the launch of the petroleum oil storage and refining plant project at the Sabah International Convention Centre in Kota Kinabalu today.

GRS comprises eight component parties:

1. Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah

2. Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP)

3. Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS)

4. Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Sabah Star)

5. United Sabah National Organisation (Usno)

6. Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah (PHRS)

7. Liberal Democratic Party (LDP)

8. Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS)

The 16th Sabah state election was held on Sept 26, 2020, while the next polls have to be held this year.
