Man arrested for molesting woman at Penang market

 

The man, aged 55, was arrested at his house in Titi Teras, Balik Pulau, Penang, at 4pm.

Police arrested a Malaysian, 55, on suspicion of molesting a woman at the Balik Pulau market here at 9.55am yesterday.

The Barat Daya police, in a statement, said the man was arrested at his house in Titi Teras at 4pm.

This came a few hours after a report was lodged by the victim, who claimed to have been molested at the market.

“The complainant realised a man had molested her from behind.

“The incident was witnessed by two other women,” police said in the statement.

The man was arrested for further investigation under Section 354 of the Penal Code (for using criminal force to outrage the modesty of a woman). - FMT
