- SJKC Kong Aik in Arau, Perlis has overwhelming Malay pupil population
- not a single Chinese pupil enrolled in Year One for the 2025/2026
- Of 23 pupils, 13 were Malays, nine Siamese and one Indian.
- school has 190 pupils - 93 Malays, Siamese (69), Chinese (19), Indians (5)
- more pupils from other races than Chinese
- Perlis has 74 schools, 10 are SJKCs or National-Type Chinese Schools.
- learning environment in SJKC deemed superior to national school.
- farsighted Malay parents send children to Chinese school
My Comments :
The children will learn to speak Mandarin and they will gain a "Chinese" education. They will have a super advantage over other children who cannot speak Mandarin.
More Malay and Indian parents should send their children to enroll in Chinese schools.
