PETALING JAYA
Selangor police have suggested that signboards or placards with the message “No to drugs” be put up at entrances to concert venues as a condition for event organisers in the state.

Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said this suggestion was one of several proposed to the state government and the housing and local government ministry early this month in efforts to curb drug use at entertainment events.

He said concert organisers previously only placed such reminders on tickets.

“This will indirectly help curb the use of drugs at concerts,” Bernama quoted him as saying at a press conference in Shah Alam today.

This follows the deaths of four individuals at the Pinkfish New Year countdown event at Bandar Sunway last December.

Hussein also said police have briefed youth and sports minister Hannah Yeoh on the results of their investigation into the deaths and shared their suggestions for additional measures for concert organisers. - FMT
