Maran police chief Wong Kim Wai said the crash at 1.40pm involved a car heading to Kuantan from Kuala Lumpur, Sinar Harian reported.
He said it was raining, and the car, driven by the girl’s mother, aged 31, lost control and skidded before crashing into the divider.
“As a result, the victim was thrown out of the car towards the opposite lane onto the windscreen of an approaching vehicle,” he said.
The child was confirmed dead at the scene. Her older sister, aged nine, suffered minor injuries while her mother and father, 39, were not hurt.
The driver of the other car, aged 57, his wife, 54, and their 11-year-old child sustained minor injuries and were taken to Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital in Temerloh for treatment.
An investigation is being held under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act for causing death by dangerous driving. - FMT
