My Comments :
I Googled this news and saw that a few websites other than Middle East Monitor reported this news:
There are a few strange things about this Al Jolani fellow.
Within weeks of his outfit HTS (Hayat Tahrir Sham) grabbing power in Syria a number of European leaders visited Syria including the German Foreign Minister.
Then the European Union convened a conference of sorts in Brussels (about the "future" of Syria) and has pledged millions of Euros to help Syria rebuild and recover.
Then two days after Bashar Assad left Damascus (on December 8th, 2024) the Israelis bombed and sank the entire Syrian Navy at the Latakia port. The Israelis also invaded and occupied the other "half" of the Golan Heights inside Syria including fully occupying the Mount Hermon area. What is interesting is that the new Syrian ruler did not really complain or raise any fuss at losing the entire Syrian Navy or the Israelis occupying Mount Hermon, which is located 47 km away from Damascus.
And now the British are saying that
It looks like the West has found their man in Syria. Abu Mohammad al-Jolani is obviously an 'asset' for the west.
It looks like Syria will be broken up into at least two parts. The other part being Syrian Kurdistan.
When you do not know how to manage your own affairs then other people will come and manage your affairs for you.
