In a bid to answer questions posed on various headline-grabbing current issues, KiniTV debuted a Bahasa Malaysia podcast titled “Explain Sikit, Kini!”.
The first episode features senior lawyer Haniff Khatri Abdulla and former Malaysian ambassador to the US Nazri Aziz - in a discussion on Chief Justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat’s remarks on political influence in judicial appointments.
KiniTV journalist Mastura Malak led the hour-long discussion that saw Haniff, known as the lawyer to former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad, defending Tengku Maimun and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim against speculations on the process involved in appointing judges.
Nazri had previously questioned the timing of Tengku Maimun’s remarks, made in a keynote speech in Malta.
In the podcast episode, the former law minister reiterated that she should explain herself if her speech has been misquoted or misunderstood by the public.
