Cops tracking down man over road rage incident at Kempas toll plaza

Johor Bahru Utara police chief Balveer Singh says a lorry driver was allegedly assaulted for honking at the suspect’s car.

 Police are tracking down a man who allegedly assaulted a lorry driver in a road rage incident at the Kempas toll plaza on the North-South Expressway last Sunday.

Johor Bahru Utara police chief Balveer Singh said the 31-year-old driver lodged a report at 5.35pm, about three hours after the incident.

He said the driver had honked at a car that did not move when the toll barrier was lifted.

“An unidentified man came out of his car and asked the complainant to open his door.

“He proceeded to strike the victim several times on the face and head. The lorry driver eventually fought back by kicking the assailant out of the lorry,” he said in a statement.

Balveer said the incident is being investigated under Section 160 of the Penal Code for affray, or public brawling. - FMT
