Selangor BN ramps up 'love fest' on Komuter trains
KTM Komuter has begun screening ‘Sayangi BN’ (Love BN) videos on its six-car train sets in the Klang Valley, as the coalition ramps up its campaign to take back Selangor from Pakatan Rakyat in the upcoming general election.
The three-minute footage shows BN head and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak engaging with the people, with a caption reading‘sekian lama aman sejahtera’ (there has been peace and harmony all this while).
Also displayed is the BN logo and slogan‘Yakini BN, Sayangi Selangor’ (Believe in BN, Love Selangor).
Sources said the video has been shown since Dec 29, in tandem with the launch of the ‘Sayangi Selangor’ carnival organised by the state BN.
However, they could not say for how long the videos will be played, or whether this is a paid or free advertisement.
Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) president Elias Kadir, when contacted, asked for a formal request to be submitted.
“I feel it is better that you email the questions. It is more formal,” he said.
Last April, KTMB had denied issuing a directive for BN flags to be displayed Komuter stations in Selangor.
Since last July, ‘Sayangi Selangor’advertisementshave been displayed on Komuter coaches alongside the captions like ‘We listen to your plight concerning (the) high cost (of living)’ and ‘We understand and listen to your needs on education’.
KTMB chairperson Mohamad Zin Mohamad, who is also Selangor BN secretary, had said this is a paid advertisement.
