Another local airline reportedly owes its staff at least three months of back pay, mStar reported.
This comes after Rayani Air lost its operating licence after failing to pay its staff, resulting in a pilot strike that left hundreds of passengers stranded.
"We have not been paid for three months - March, April and May. The management kept changing their stance when we ask about our pay.
"The management first urged us to be patient and promised lots of things, while at other times promised to pay our salaries at certain dates. But they were empty promises, we are yet unpaid," a staff member was quoted as saying.
The staff member, who was not named, said the management finally admitted the airline is facing financial difficulties.
In an e-mail sighted by mStar, the airline told its employees that it will provide "advances" on a case-by-case basis.
It also promised to pay the salaries, but admitted it cannot make full payments due to financial constraints, mStar reported. - Mkini
