
Ipoh city reportedly plunged into darkness after electricity supply was disrupted at around 7.15pm today.
According to Simpang Pulai assemblyperson Tan Kar Hing, among affected areas include Ampang, Gunung Rapat, Taman Song Chon and Panorama Lapangan Perdana.
"I still cannot get through to TNB," he said on Facebook.
Calls to the TNB Careline could not be connected, but a TNB spokesperson told Malaysiakini a statement will be issued soon.
According to complaints on TNB's Facebook page, other affected areas include Tambun, Tanjung Rambutan, Ipoh Garden and Bandar Seri Botani.
"Great timing for a blackout, 10 minutes to the breaking of fast," said Facebook user Amirul Nizam, who resides in Taman Chandan Desa, Simpang Pulai.
Twitter user @naaajja_ posted a picture of diners eating under the shine of flashlights at what appears to be a food court.

Others saw it in a more romantic light.

As at 9pm today, netizens reported that supply was restored in several areas including Bandar Seri Botani, Pekan Rezeki, Tambun and Ampang. - Mkini
