The police were not invited to provide security within the Nothing to Hide 2 forum venue, inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar said.
"We did not take care of security within (the hall), but police personnel were outside because the police were not invited to the event.
"We took care of security outside the venue," Khalid told reporters at Bukit Aman today.
The forum in Shah Alam was called off last Sunday, after a group of youths began hurling projectiles and flares towards the stage when Pakatan Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad was speaking.
Several troublemakers were apprehended by forum participants and handed to the police. Yesterday, the police made more arrests, bringing the total number of detainees to 10.
