TTF is tired of the excuses given by the Chief Minister and calls upon him to clear the air on the matter. TTF also offers to publically debate Lim Guan Eng on the matter and is optimistic that the Chief Minister will do what is right and accept the challenge in the broader interest of Competency, Accountability and Transparency (CAT)
THE THIRD FORCE
In a preceding article titled “Kit Siang, what kind of government is your son running” (READ HERE), TTF accused Lim Guan Eng of contradicting himself by first acknowledging that an illegal factory in Kampung Sungai Lembu brought negative impact on villagers, before admitting that his administration adopted a policy of ‘non-interference’ that prevented him from taking remedial action.
Not only has the Penang Chief Minister yet to respond to the accusation, he has yet to address allegations that the incidence of cancer in the affected village far exceeded the national average by a factor of 23 times. The anomalous rate has been attributed to the toxic fumes and ash that billowed into the open from pits of burning sawdust, fumes that villagers were forced to inhale for many years.
In light of this, TTF has taken the liberty to furnish Malaysians with the cut-and-dry proof that the illegal factory issue was NOT a deliberate attempt by the Barisan Nasional government to sabotage Guan Eng as claimed by some quarters. Attached bellow herein is a petition signed by 180 residents in Kampung Sungai Lembu, along with a legal letter issued to the JKKK of the affected village that ‘warned him off’ issuing statements.
