Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak remains as coy as ever on when he'll be calling for the next general election.
"Elections can be held at any time. If there is an election, we'll even postpone the date of the Umno general assembly (this year)," Najib said at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.
He said this when asked whether BN has finalised its shortlist of election candidates, to which he said it was an "on going process."
Najib had earlier announced that this year's Umno general assembly will be held from Dec 5 to Dec 9.
He was speaking to the press after chairing the party's supreme council meeting at the Menara Dato Onn.
The 14th general elections must be called by July next year.
Among the many speculations is that Najib will wait for the current Parliament's mandate to expire, to give him as much time as possible to implement policies he will be announcing in Budget 2018 this October. - Mkini
